Vegetation of Kamchatka
The vegetation of Kamchatka is well known for its fast growing tall perennial
plants. These perennials can reach heights of well above 2 meters. It is
a special experience for hikers to walk through this dense 'jungle'.
Higher elevations are dominated by a tundra vegetation and alpine meadows.
Forests in central Kamchatka are dominated by coniferous trees (larch, spruce),
but the typical forest for most parts of Kamchatka is the stone birch forest
      of Betula ermanii.
